‘Next-generation’ Apple Store opens in Memphis – but what does it mean for the rest of the stores?
Looking to sell Apple devices online? If you are interested in purchasing a more up-to-date Apple product after hopefully selling your old one to us, your first port of call may be an Apple Store.
You’re probably familiar with the iconic stark white and glass designs of Apple Stores, with the Apple logo proudly displayed on the front.
However, you may be seeing an entirely new design on your local high street soon.
A rather unusual inspiration...
The first of what has been termed the "next generation" of Apple Store has launched in Memphis, Tennessee in the United States.
Said to be inspired by "the feeling of window shopping on a sleepy street in a small town", the majority of the store (drawers, cabinets and other interactive flourishes) has been given a makeover – instead of the clean, modern displays we’re used to seeing, the new store has been kitted out with homely wooden furniture.
The store also features new wooden accessory display installations, endearingly named “The Avenue”. It features an area that allows visitors to try out headphones and shelf space for speakers, docks and other paraphernalia.
New wooden tables have also been designed by Apple’s chief design officer, Sir Jony Ive. The tables are equipped with wooden panels that are raised when a motion sensor is triggered, revealing plug sockets and USB ports.
The store also boasts a rather stunning highlight; a floor-to-ceiling television display that stands opposite the store’s entrance. The screen, which cost an impressive $1.5 million to manufacture, runs Apple device promos but currently has a few of the top-left panels malfunctioning, according to reports.
What about the rest of the world?
It’s unclear as to whether the Memphis store’s features are going to appear in any other Apple Stores any time soon – bar the wooden tables, which it is said are “being rolled out to Apple Stores globally”, according to AppleInsider.
With the original renderings for this store being revealed just over 6 months ago, who knows how soon it could be before your nearest Apple Store is as flashy as the one to have opened its doors in Memphis?
In the meantime, should you be interested in selling your old Apple devices to us here at Sell Us Your Apple UK, please don’t hesitate to complete our simple online quote form.

How will I know it's time for an iPhone upgrade?
We are constantly singing praises about how we are the easiest, safest and quickest way to sell iPhones online, but how do you actually know whether it is time to do so?
There are several telltale signs that it's time to upgrade your iPhone and hopefully sell your old one to us.
Sluggish speeds
This is often the first sign that it's time to say goodbye to your phone. It could be that your apps take forever to load, only to crash soon afterwards, or that the touchscreen seems to take forever to function correctly.
Whatever it may be, it's probably a sign that it's upgrade time. As new iPhone models are released, better processors are used so that the phones can keep up with new software and technology.
For example, did you know the iPhone 6 is approximately 25% faster than the iPhone 5S?
The battery just isn't the same
Rechargeable batteries have a limited number of charge cycles, believe it or not, and they have to be replaced after a certain period of time.
It may be that you can't get through a few hours without having to charge again, or that the battery is acting erratically - for example, the phone drops from a high battery to low battery very quickly or switches off at 50%.
Whatever the exact situation, if it involves the misbehaviour of your battery, it may be time to invest in a new iPhone.
Feel like you're missing out?
As the iPhone operating system updates, the designers add features that older models can't run correctly. It could be apps or other software, or hardware features such as touch recognition - if you feel that you need these features in your life, it's probably the right moment to splash out on a new iPhone.
Whatever your reason for wanting an upgrade, you should make sure you sell your old iPhone (and other Apple devices) to ourselves here at Sell Us Your Apple.
We will get back to you with a quote within 24 hours of your contact, and you will be paid by PayPal, cheque or BACs before you know it.

The name of the new iPhone has been (potentially) revealed
If you were looking to sell an iPhone online, now may be the time to do so.
Apple is rumoured to be releasing another new iPhone next month, which may make now the perfect time to sell your used or old iPhone (or any other Apple devices, for that matter) with Sell Us Your Apple UK.
The new, cheaper iPhone's name was the subject of dozens of rumours after a set of pictures was recently leaked, showcasing drawings of the phone’s alleged design.
So, with a compact and efficient design, a whole host of innovative features including Live Photos and a stunning Rose Gold colouring, if all of the claims about the new handset are right, it’s only appropriate that the phone gets a name to live up to its high calibre.
The iPhone SE (special edition) would mark the first time the name of an iPhone has not featured a number - since the original model, anyway. It was reportedly originally set to be named the iPhone 5se, only for the '5' to be ditched after fears that it would cause confusion among customers.
The numbers may have been abandoned, but the SE is still allegedly being modelled on the original 5’s compact design. However, it also purportedly incorporates many features from the iPhone 6 and 6s, the latest iPhone releases.
Some of the rumoured features include a 12-megapixel camera, an A9 processor and the Near Field Communication (NFC) chip responsible for Apple Pay transactions. It’s been reported that the device will be available in a choice of 16GB or 64GB storage sizes, costing between £300 and £400.
This means that the SE would be a cheaper option that the iPhone 6 or 6s, as well as the iPhone 5c, which was discontinued in September of last year.
The iPhone SE will supposedly see the light of day towards the end of March. If you’re already raring to purchasing one, you may find that you have an old or used iPhone kicking around that you wouldn't find selling on to fund your new purchase.
So, why not sell an iPhone online quickly, easily, and safely with Sell Us Your Apple UK? It's an incredibly simple process, so don't be afraid to contact us now for a free quote.

With a new iPad and iPhone on the way, there’s no better time to sell your used Apple products
Apple is set to launch the iPad Air 3 and iPhone 7 in the coming months, according to a 9to5Mac report, which could be an incentive for you to sell your current Apple devices online.
The exciting upgrades would see the iPad implement a four-speaker layout and a Smart Connector to work with iPad Air accessories, while the new iPhone is said to feature an upgraded A9 processor and an 8-megapixel camera.
If the reports are accurate, the launches would also mark the first time Apple releases products almost immediately after their announcement – the devices will apparently not be available for pre-order, which would indicate that there are plenty of them to be sold.

How to Securely Format your MacBook Data
Formatting the entire Hard Drive. This option requires a little more know-how. If you're running OS X 10.7 or higher it can be done using the recovery partition or a bootable USB. If you are running OS X 10.6 or older, you will need either a bootable USB or CD with the version of OS X that came with your machine, or a later Version.
*If your Mac has a SSD this option will not work.
To boot off either method, either restart your Mac while holding down the option key, or turn it on and immediately hold down the option key. The startup manager should appear. Either select recovery partition, USB drive, or CD; whatever you plan to use. It will boot into the installer. Select your language, and then at the top middle of the screen select utilities and then disk utility. Once in disk utility, select your Hard Drive. Click on the erase tab, and then select security options. You will then determine how many times your data will be overwritten, but keep in mind that the more passes it makes, the longer it will take, but also will make it more secure. Once you choose how many passes hit erase. It will take some time depending on how many passes you chose, and how much data you have.

Resetting your iPhone or iPad before you sell it
Once you reset your device, all your information will be lost.
Before sending the iPhone or iPad, make sure the iCloud is disabled, Go to settings, then down to iCloud, go down to Find my iPhone / iPad and turn this off.
To clear the device.....
Go into the settings (gray gear icon). Click on the general tab. Once in general, scroll down to the very bottom to reset. Select reset all content and settings. The device will begin to erase all your content and settings. Once your device restarts on its own, it will be complete. Now you can sell your device without any worries.
Even though this process is simple, we will still securely erase your data when we receive your device.
